Que tal Señores del Foro, alguien ha escuchado a ésta Maestra Contrabajista, de Calgary, Canadá? o alguien ha tomado clases con ella?.... o alguien la conoce?
Gracias, es porque, necesito información para ver si voy al Conservatorio donde ella da clases..

Hola Rodrigo,
Lo primero que te diria es que si puedes salir de tu pais, no pierdas la oportunidad, te estan dando todo el dinero? tienes otras oportunidades de irte a otro lado?

Segun el curriculum estudio con muy buenos profesores, y ha tenido bastante escuela, ha tenido resultados y me parece que seria muy buena para formar a un estudiante, si estas pensando empezar carrera con ella, me parece muy buena opcion. 

Para los que no la conocen aqui esta el curriculum de ella.

Como van las comunicaciones con ella?

Sheila Garrett, Assistant Principal Bass of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, received her early musical training as a scholarship student at the National Music Camp and Interlochen Arts Academy (diploma). A graduate of the University of Michigan (Bachelor of Music Performance with Distinction), Sheila was awarded the Blatt Siegel Double Bass prize to ?a student showing outstanding potential as a professional orchestral player?. She continued her studies, on full scholarship, at the Guildhall School of Music in London, England (Certificate of Advanced Studies). Summer studies include Tanglewood, and the Interlochen Arts Camp, where she was a featured soloist as a concerto competition winner. Sheila wishes to acknowledge and thank her teachers for their care and guidance over the years: Oscar Zimmerman, Homer Mensch, Leslie Martin, Peter Spring, Lawrence Hurst, and Thomas Martin.

In addition to the CPO, Sheila Garrett has performed as a member of the Ann Arbor Symphony, Banff Festival Orchestra, Calgary Chamber Ensemble, Flint Symphony, Indiana University Festival Orchestra, Red Deer Symphony, and Toledo Symphony. She has also served as coach to the Calgary Youth Orchestra and Banff Festival of Youth Orchestras. As a chamber musician she has collaborated with the Alberta Chamber Players, Beau Quartet, Rosa Selvatica, Mount Royal Woodwind Quintet, and with Mount Royal College faculty and guest artists, many performances recorded by CBC. Together with her husband, CPO Principal Bassist Charles Garrett, Sheila has performed in recital at the conventions of Bassworks and the International Society of Bassists.

A dedicated teacher, Sheila Garrett is an instructor at the University of Lethbridge and the Mount Royal College Conservatory, from which she received the Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award. Her students are consistent Kiwanis Festival winners, CMC finalists, and have received scholarships to prestigious post secondary institutions including: Amsterdam Conservatory, Colburn School for the Performing Arts, Glenn Gould School, Indiana University, Julliard, McGill, University of Ottawa, and University of Toronto. Seven of her (former) students have been members of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada.

Gracias Daniel, en efecto se ve con mucha experiencia en su curriculum, y si, estoy teniendo la oportunidad de estudiar allá, pero solo un semestre, quizas 2, pues es un programa de intercambios internacionales de la universidad y la verdad ya me decidí en ir, solo me falta terminar con algunos trámites.

Tambien lo que quería saber es si alguien ha sido su alumno, o tiene alguna otra referencia. De cualquier manera agradezco mucho tu respuesta Daniel.
