Emily Heathcote, clarinet

London Sinfonietta Academy 2011
Mon 25 July - Saturday 30 July

Now embarking on its third year, London Sinfonietta Academy is a week long intensive course of rehearsals, masterclasses and workshops specialising in the performance of contemporary classical music. Participants are selected from UK-wide open auditions with the ensemble's Principal Players and, following this process, up to 30 of the UK's finest young musicians come together at Kings Place, London, to further their performance experience and training led by London Sinfonietta Principal Players and conducted by Elgar Howarth.

This year we will be opening up the opportunity to more participants, including more core contemporary repertoire and offering an intensive musical and educational experience to all involved. If you are aged between 16 and 26, passionate about performing new music and interested in learning all that you can from the Principal Players of the London Sinfonietta and Elgar Howarth for a week in July, then don't miss out on your opportunity to apply for this experience.

To apply, download the documents at the bottom of this page and send your completed Application Form and Equal Opportunities Form to info@londonsinfonietta.org.uk or our office address no later than the deadline: Friday 10 December 2010.

"It was a really amazing experience and will be a great help for my future as a performer of contemporary music"
Yutaka Shimoda, violin

"From the composer to the members of the Sinfonietta to us is such a short distance, so you get first hand experience about how to play - it's fantastic!"
David Stark, double bass

Seria una oportunidad unica participar de un evento asi, el conocimiento de interpretacion de una epoca que esta en pleno proceso, me parece que es imposible de conseguir de otra manera
