Dear MASTER CLASS  students,
This exceptional, international masters? music review is for remarkably talented young instrumentalists - string players.

The teaching staff comprising six world-famous virtuosos:
- violinist Bart?omiej Nizio? (Poland / Switzerland),
- violinist Xiaoming Wang (China),
- violist David Greenlees (Great Britain),
- cellist Alexander Neustroev (Russia),
- contrabassist Dariusz Mizera (Poland / Switzerland),
- contrabassist Vitold Rek (Poland/Germany)
And three outstanding chamber music pianists:
- Maja Sterczy?ska (Poland)
- Marcin Sikorski (Poland)
- Mariusz Rutkowski (Poland)

MASTER CLASS gives the opportunity to discover new, interesting and fresh looks at music. It is worth to emphasize that the students of the Review will have an unusual and unique chance to listen to and enjoy the sound of the epochal, original instrument Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesů from 1727, which I will play during concerts and consultations.

On the basis of the concerts and consultations the circle of professors will single out the Musical Personalities and award them Grand Prix MASTER CLASS.

Dariusz Mizera
Born December 29th 1967, in Bytom. Dariusz Mizera first studied at Music High School in Bytom with Prof. Gerard Przby?a (the first solo double bass player in ?Wielka Orkiestra Polskiego Radia i Telewizji w Katowicach?).

He improved his skills at ?Akademia Muzyczna w Warszawie? under the tutelage of  prof. Tadeusz Pelczar. At the age of twenty-one, second double bass soloist in ?Polska Orkiestra Radiowa w Warszawie? After graduating from ?Akademia Muzyczna? he did not stop improving his playing technique. Classes with double bass masters like Evgeniy Kolossov/Russia, Francois Rabbath/France and Franco Petracchi/Italy were opening up new possibilities and musical experiences. In 1990 Dariusz Mizera became the principal soloist of ?Warszawska Opera Kameralna? and performed works of Mozart, Rossini and Polish composers around Europe. In 1995 the principal soloist in the Malmoe Symphony Orchestra in Sweden and since July 1995, in the Danish Concert Orchestra at the Danish National Radio in Copenhagen. Eight years stay in Denmark has been very intensive for Mizera. He has played solo concerts with the orchestra, recitals, has made records for Danish radio and has released his first solo CD with Bottesini?s works. He has won the second prize at Giovanni Bottesini Competition in Italy and the first prize at Joseph Prunner?s Double Bass Competition in 2002 in Bucharest. Dariusz Mizera has taken part and won prizes at  Polish competitions like ?Przes?uchanie m?odych kontrabasistów? in Elbl?g (third prize), ?Konkurs muzyki kameralnej? in Wroc?aw (first prize), ?Adam Bronis?aw Ciecha?ski Competition? (first prize), ?Yamacha Foundation of Europe? (first prize). Since 2002 the principal soloist of the Zürich Opernhaus and from 2005 the professorship in Neuchâtel (Switzerland). He plays concerts and cooperates with Kammer Zuercher Orchester, Solisten Zug, Neuchatel Orchester, Kammer Ensamble Chaemeleon, Arauer Symphony Orchester.

Vitold Rek
Born in 1955, in Rzeszów. He graduated from ?Akademia Muzyczna? in Kraków (double bass). He has received the individual distinction in soloist category at Jazz nad Odr? Competition in 1975.

In 1977 he has became a bass player in Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski?s bands and between 1978 and 1981,  in Sun Ship band. At the end of the 70s he has started the fifteen years lasting cooperation with Tomasz Sta?ko, together with the band well known from international jazz festivals. Since 1984 he has led his own bands, Basspace (Ma?gorzata Ostrowska?s guest appearance) and The Spark. According to Jazz Forum survey - the best double bass player in 1986 and 1988. After moving to Germany he carries on playing double bass, composing and producing. He teaches jazz double bass and coaches ensembles at both the Hochschule für Musik, Mainz and Hochschule für Musik, Frankfurt/Main, Germany. In 2008 Vitold Rek was honored with Tomasz Stanko?s 5 CD album "1970-1975-1984-1986-1988" - Platinum Prize in Poland.
